Readers of AutoExpert, a Polish magazine that targets automotive workshops, automobile dealers, and spare parts dealers and producers, have voted stickerfix™ “Product of the Year 2009” in the automotive chemicals category. Stickerfix™ is a DIY adhesive repair system developed by AkzoNobel Car Refinishes to repair minor scratches and nicks. With stickerfix™, a thin piece of painted adhesive film is applied to a damaged spot on a vehicle. It was launched in markets in Europe earlier this year to enthusiastic reviews.
Voting in the annual readers’ poll took place via the Internet and at InterCars trade fairs. The winners were announced and award certificates and statuettes handed out last week at an awards ceremony in Wroclaw, Poland.
“This award is very important to us,” said Vaclav Kloub, AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Regional Sales Manager Central Europe. “We appreciate it all the more because it was awarded by the readers. It is clear evidence that Polish consumers appreciate companies like AkzoNobel that take the lead in developing innovative products.”
Stickerfix™, which is an alternative to touch-up pens, is a convenient way not only to repair minor cosmetic damage, but also to protect vulnerable parts of vehicles like door edges. It is an environmentally friendly repair solution; with Stickerfix™, unlike pens or liquid paints, no VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are released into the environment during the repair.
“Stickerfix™ is a completely new approach to DIY repairs,” added Dominique Fort, AkzoNobel Car Refinishes New Business Development Manager. “The enthusiasm for Stickerfix™ since it was launched, reflected not just in this award, but also in sales trends, is clear evidence that it fills a real need in the marketplace.”
